Art Video

This video was taken from two different climates (winter and summer) and from two different vehicles (motorcycle and a car). I wanted to show the illusion on what I was thinking at that time driving in the snow. It was a winter nightmare at that time and all I wanted at that time was to be in warm weather and on my bike. I also wanted to look like an old movie, like a memory. so I wanted to show my thoughts at that time as a reflection on the windshield. The sound effect was also two different things. I decontextualized a song with the natural sounds of the wind and the sounds of the road. After reflecting on this video, I feel great not driving in that horrible snow.

Music discussion

the clips i got to view were great! the latin beat was electrifying. they really knew how to make those instruments work well with one another. the flute was very influential in this song. gave the entire beat life. "El Pescador" reminded me of songs I heard as a child. Very soft beat with the soft voice and slow singing. just great beat from the drums. "Sidestepers" sounds amazing. great maracas beat with the slow singing. the back up singers make the song even softer. the song that remade the pink panther sound and then adding the carribian beat with it was amazing to listen to. La Pantera Mambo is a a tittle that goes great with this song. the Pacifico song was a great combination of the caribian mix with the rap. she made it sound great! both of these songs are amazing. these songs are very relaxing and southing to me. the caribian beats makes me be around the beach holding and drink living life with n worries. Bambo sterio created a great mix with the latin sounds and the electric guitar. Sayayin makes just want to get up and dance. this is a nice upbeat song that would have anyone dancing very quickly. the Bogotazo has a great beat and amazing video. a great example of art video. very fast beat with medium singing, amazing track. Silverio reminds me of something Rick James would do. this video has great beat and visual effects. All of these tracks were great . amazing sound and beats. the decontextualization of the songs were also great. sounds are just out of this world.

performance Video

I choose to do this type of performance because this generation is completely focused on the screen in front of them then what they are doing. specially when they drive. I have come so close to many accidents because people are texting instead of paying attention on the road. texting and driving have caused more accidents and deaths then drinking and driving. I specially noticed it when I rode my motorcycle people just don't pay attention to what's on the road. I came close to dying because of idiots not paying attention to what they are supposed to.

Nam June Paik

i jus t got done reading Nam June Paik's obituary and I found many interesting things about his life. During the 60's which was a time of experimenting, and i mean drugs, Mr. Paik did not dink any alcoholic drinks nor did any drugs. he was very high on life and what projects he did that he did not even have time to get involved with any narcotic substances. Mr. Paik did not even drive. he was just involved in his out of the box ideas. Paik lived a full life and created many amazing pieces of art. he was also a part of the movement Fluxux. i found the massive robot he created to be spectacular. a robot that stood 60 feet tall using 1003 tv monitors. that was an incredible work of art!

The Dream Machine

this machine was first created by Brion Gysin in 1959. while some people have called it "the most sophisticated neurophenomenological device ever designed." others have called it a failure. this machine have been used by many people around the world. people such as William Burroughs and David Woodard have come to love this creation. David Woodard is at this time still making these incredible machines. they can reach up to $3000 in todays economy. they are made from what ever material you want them to be.

Joseph Beuys

"Every man is a plastic artist who must determine things for himself" this is a quote from Beuys and i think it says everything that he stands for. besides being a key participant of the Fluxus movement, Beuys came to be loosely associated with that era's international, proto-Conceptual art movement. He did everything related to art and he was great at it. Something else that made him great was that Beuys suggested, in both his teaching and in his mature "action" and sculptural artworks, that "art" might not ultimately constitute a specialized profession but, rather, a heightened humanitarian attitude, or way of conducting one's life, in every realm of daily activity.
